Dragons Travel to Annapolis to Face Navy and DePaul Today

Annapolis, Md. - Looking to bounce back from a two-match losing streak, the Dragons will be on the road this weekend to play a pair of matches against Navy (5-3) and DePaul (3-3) on the campus of the U.S. Naval Academy. Drexel will face Navy at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday and close out competition against DePaul at 1:00 p.m.
Sonja Stosic, Elise Leizerovich and Zeynep Mafa have been playing some of their best tennis of the season during the last two matches. Stosic recorded the Dragons' lone win against Temple last Friday, while Mafa and Leizerovich posted singles wins in a tough 5-2 loss to George Washington in the team's spring opener.
Navy enters the weekend with a 5-3 record on the season. The Midshipmen have won four straight matches over Saint Joseph's, Delaware State, George Mason and Longwood. Amanda Griffin anchors Navy's lineup with a 4-3 record at first singles this season. Darien Sears is the team leader with 13 dual match wins on the season, she is 5-2 while playing at second and fourth singles and has won four straight matches.
DePaul is an even 3-3 on the season and ranked No. 35 in the latest ITA poll. The Blue Demons had lost four straight to North Carolina, VCU and Illinois before snapping the skid with a 4-3 win over Louisville last Sunday in their Big East opener. Katarina Milinkovic is the Blue Demons' top singles player. She is 8-8 on the season and 5-1 in dual matches at first singles.
