Temple Tops Dragons 6-1 in Dual Match

Philadelphia- Drexel fell to 2-2 on the season in dual matches with a 6-1 loss to Temple. Sonja Stosic pulled out the only victory for the Dragons on the day with a straight-setter at second singles. The Dragons return to action on Feb. 12 when they travel to play Navy and DePaul in Annapolis, Md.
Stosic outworked her opponent, Yana Mavrina in a 7-6 (7-3) victory to open her match at second singles. After wearing down the rookie, Stosic put her away 6-4 in the second set to claim the team's lone point on the day.
Elise Leizerovich lost out in a three-set match at sixth singles. She came back after losing the first set 6-3 to take the second set over Carly Bohman 6-2. With the match clinched for Temple, the pair played a superset for the third set and Bohman went on a run to pull out a 10-4 victory over Leizerovich to clinch the match.
