Drexel Crew Hosts La Salle and Villanova on Saturday

Philadelphia - Drexel Crew will return to the Schuylkill River on Saturday, March 19 after opening the spring season in less than favorable conditions on the Cooper River last weekend. The Dragons will welcome La Salle and Villanova for dual races as Drexel prepares for the Murphy Cup on Saturday, March 26.
The women's varsity eight, in the Marlene Buckley, will kick off competition at 11:00 a.m. with coxswain Cate Khella, stroke Elizabeth Bratton, Dana Haneman, Julia Jackson, Juliana DeMarici, Kayla Wroblesky, Mallory Sykes, Casondra Clawson, and bow Alexa Antonioli.
The men's varsity eight, in the Vince Vidas boat, will begin racing at 11:20 a.m. with coxswain Randall Lee, stroke Kurt Linton, Kyle Fabel, Aleksandar Radovic, Lorenzo Albala, Timothy Drake, Will Masters, Liam O'Neill, and bow Jacob Sloan competing for Drexel. For the men's second varsity eight, Head Coach Paul Savell will send out the Annette Pennoni boat with coxswain Dana Piccoli, stoke Filip Topalovic, Gregg Francis, Kevin Rorabaugh, Michael Golden, Brian Timlin, Patrick McGann, Michael Faust, and bow Peter Schmidt. Both boats are scheduled to race at the same time.
The women's second varsity eight, in the John A. Daskalakis boat, will start at 11:40 a.m. with coxswain Alex Paulin, stroke Taylor Mondak, Brooke Wertan, Colleen Owens, Megan Bush, Asiya Mahmud, Samantha Cowan, Mollie Cusack, and bow Emily Coyle. Following them at 12:00 p.m. will be Drexel's women's third varsity eight. The Joseph Greipp boat will feature coxswain Carolina Torres, stroke Jillian Skovran, Kathy Cheng, Lillian Reed, Elise Panacek, Emily Barth, Alicia Hoy, Victoria Bannister, and bow Jennifer Everett.
The men's freshmen eight, in the Peggy Greenawalt boat, is set to take the water at 12:20 p.m. with coxswain Marc Smith, stroke, John Pieper, Vanja Busic, Sebastian Ryan, Steven Miner, Ryan McSpedon, Ross Morris, Matthew Ryan, and bow Marcus DeMarici. Following them at 12:40 p.m. will be the women's freshmen eight, in the Anna Marie boat, with coxswain Kerry Walsh, stroke Sarah Mackenzie, Colleen Delany, Amanda O'Malley, Elizabeth Daugherty, Caitlin Buser, Alyssa Leahy, Shannon O'Donnell, and bow Jackie Bender.
The regatta will close with the men's and women's varsity four competitions at 1:00 p.m. First to start is the men's varsity four, in the LeBow College of Business boat, with coxswain Justin Malley, stroke Gregory Pierce, Dylan Siegfried, Nick Buyse, and bow Adam Cordi. The Sandi Sheller boat will be featured in the final race of the day, the women's varsity four squad, with coxswain Caitlin Meehan, Jillian Skovran, Kathy Cheng, Chloe Swansen, and bow Brogan Piecara.
