
Men's and Women's Squash Fall to Brown

PHILADELPHIA - The men's and women's squash teams fell on Saturday in matches with Brown at the Kline & Specter Squash Center in the Daskalakis Athletic Center. The men's team fell 8-1, while the women dropped a 9-0 decision. Justin Singh collected the Dragons' only individual victory, a five-set triumph at the top spot on the men's ladder.
Justin Singh continued his outstanding first season in the blue and gold on Saturday, defeating Blake Reinson of Brown. Singh's match was unquestionably the best of the day overall. After winning the first two games 11-7 and 11-8, Singh could not put Reinson away in the third, eventually ceding the game 11-13. The fourth game was equally tense, with Reinson once again pushing it to extra points before winning, 12-10. Then in the fifth, the duo went back and forth before Singh finally emerged on top with an 11-8 victory.
Sebastian Dangond Gala also took his match to four games before falling in the No. 2 position, 7-11, 11-4, 11-8, 11-7. The remaining Dragons all were defeated in three games.
On the women's side, Brown captured all nine points in three games apiece. Playing at the No. 1 position, Kiran Vasudevan had the best individual game for the Dragons, the second of her set as she fell to Dori Rahbar, 11-2, 11-7, 11-4. Zeba Ahmed, playing at No. 7, put up a good fight before falling to Erika Kohnen, 11-5, 11-2, 11-4. Atiqah Shahrin fell to Sarah Crosky at No. 3, 11-4, 11-4, 11-2.
The match was the final dual match of the regular season for the women, while the men still have one remaining against Swarthmore next week.
