Fairfax, Va. – Drexel Wrestling dropped two conference dual meets on Saturday at the CAA Duals. The Dragons fell to Binghamton, 29-14, in their first match up and then were defeated by Old Dominion, 27-9.
Binghamton jumped out to an early 7-0 lead in the first dual before Frank Cimato put the Dragons on the board with an 11-2 major decision at 141. Connor Moran also had a major decision and Austin Sommer added a win-by-fall, but it was not enough to catch up to Binghamton.
Against Old Dominion, Cimato again was first secure points for Drexel with a decision over Justin LaValle. Noel Blanco added a 6-2 decision at 157 and Moran earned a 3-0 win in the 165 bout, but the Monarchs took the last four matches to secure the 27-9 victory.
Drexel next returns home to host Sacred Heart at the Daskalakis Athletic Center on Saturday, January 26. Matches are set to begin at 7:00 p.m.
