Philadelphia - Derrick Thomas and Damion Lee each scored 16 points, but the Dragons fell to George Mason on Valentine's Day in the DAC, 68-62. With the win, the Patriots salvaged a split of the season series.

Drexel held a slim margin for a majority of the game, but couldn't extend the lead past eight points. Midway through the second half, Mason took its first lead of the second half. Erik Copes converted a three-point play and Vertrail Vaughns made a pair of free throws to put Mason ahead, 43-42. The game, which featured nine ties and seven lead changes, was back and forth until the Patriots went ahead for good on a three-pointer by Corey Edwards with 1:57 remaining. The game was always within reach, but Drexel was unable to get a stop on the defensive end in the last two minutes.

Thomas continued his solid play for the Dragons, scoring 16 points and reaching double figures in scoring for the fifth straight game. The senior also had five boards, four steals and three assists. Lee had 12 of his 16 points in the second half and was 5-for-5 from the line. Frantz Massenat chipped in with 13 points and four assists. His last assist moved him into seventh place on Drexel's career list. Daryl McCoy also reached a milestone, coming up with his 800th career rebounds. McCoy finished with 12 rebounds and moved into seventh place on the all-time Drexel rebound list with 809, one more than Joe Linderman.

Vaughns led four Patriots with a season-high 14 points. Copes added 12 points and eight rebounds, while Sherrod Wright added 11. The Patriots outrebounded Drexel, 37-28, and shot 48 percent from the field. Drexel made nine three-pointers, including six in the first half, but shot just 33 percent from deep and 38 percent overall.

Drexel concludes its four-game homestand on Monday night against Hofstra. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
