Philadelphia, Pa. – Drexel's defense held Hofstra to just five field goals in the first half and the Dragons concluded their four-game homestand with a 63-54 victory. Damion Lee scored 17 points and Frantz Massenat added 16 as the Dragons evened their CAA record at 7-7.

Drexel (11-15) played well defensively the entire night, but shot just 38 percent from the floor as the Pride (6-21, 3-11) stayed in the game. Taran Buie sank a three-pointer with 7:17 to play to cut the Drexel lead to five points with 7:17 to play, but Drexel scored seven straight points to increase the lead to 59-47. Lee started the run with a three-pointer and finished it with a reverse lay-in after an offensive rebound.

The game was plagued by fouls as the two teams combined to commit 44 infractions and shoot 59 free throws. Drexel won the battle at the line, knocking down 72 percent of their shots, while the Pride made just 17 of their 30 free throws (.567).

Lee led the way with 17 points, 10 of them coming in the first half as Drexel took a 33-23 lead to break. Massenat had 16 points, four assists and three steals. The junior has committed just one turnover in his last 68 minutes of play. Derrick Thomas chipped in with 11 despite shooting just 3-for-12 from the floor.

Steve Mejia scored a game-high 22 points for the Pride. He had 14 of the team's first 18 points. Buie finished with 13 but was held to just three field goals in the game. The Pride had 19 turnovers, which led to 19 Drexel points.

Drexel will play its next three games away from home. The Dragons start the road trip with a game at Delaware on Thursday night at 7 p.m. The game can be seen live on The NBC Sports Network.
