Philadelphia, Pa. - Old Dominion made its last visit to the DAC a memorable one as the Monarchs stunned Drexel, 78-66. The Dragons fell to 5-6 in CAA play, while ODU picked up its first CAA win of the year.

Old Dominion (3-20), playing its first game under Interim Head Coach Jim Corrigan, had its best three-point shooting game of the season, making eight out of its 16 long-range attempts. ODU entered the contest last in the Colonial Athletic Association in three-point percentage at .275. DeShawn Painter and Dimitri Batten each nailed three three-pointers and 15 points to lead the team.

The Dragons (9-14) trailed by six at intermission, but took the lead in the early going of the second half. When Dartaye Ruffin made a pair of free throws at he 15:38 mark, the Dragons went ahead, 39-38. However, the Monarchs scored 11 straight points as part of a 17-2 run to take control of the game. The Monarchs shot a blistering 65 percent in the second half and made 16 of its 19 free throws in the final 20 minutes as the Dragons were not able to get back in the game.

Thomas was 7-for-10 from the field in the contest. The senior had three three-pointers and finished with a season-high 18 points. Frantz Massenat scored 17 points, 15 of them coming in the first half. Tavon Allen (13) and Ruffin (10) also scored in double figures. Drexel shot 46 percent from the floor, but committed 15 turnovers. The Dragons had 12 of those turnovers in the first half.

Drexel is back in action on Sunday afternoon, when it hosts James Madison at 7 p.m. The game will be televised live on The Comcast Network as part of a double header with the women's team. The Drexel women host Old Dominion at 4:30 p.m.
