Squash Teams Sweep Matches at Bowdoin

BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Drexel men's and women's squash teams made the trip up the East Coast on Friday afternoon and defeated Bowdoin in both men's and women's matches on Friday night. The women's team went first, winning 7-2, while the men's team managed a 5-4 victory.
The top of the Drexel ladder did its job on the women's side on Friday night, winning the top five matches. Damindhi Udangawa, Mary Fung-A-Fat and Kaitlyn Money won in straight sets, while Maria Diagama was victorious in four sets. At No. 3, Laura Rahauser pulled out a five-set victory. In the back end of the ladder, Kiran Vasudevan and Davila Thompson both won in three sets to complete the 7-2 vicotry.
The men's team followed with a close match. As the first group of players got on the court, the teams split four matches, with Michael Thompson winning in four sets at No. 2 and Joey Gingold winning a straight-sets victory at No. 6. Mark Kauf and Ben Bevan got the Dragons to four team points with victories at No. 3 and No. 9, respectively. Needing just one more, No. 7 Nat Fry grabbed a four-set victory at No. 7 to clinch the win, 11-9, 11-6, 8-11, 11-5.
The Dragons will continue their northeastern trip over the weekend, starting Saturday with matchups against Wesleyan and Colby.
