Squash Teams Complete Clean Sweep of Haverford By 9-0 Scores

PHILADELPHIA - The Drexel men's and women's squash teams are playing their best squash of the season at the right time. With just one match remaining in the regular season for both teams, the Dragon squads each improved their winning streak to five on Thursday night as they both took care of Haverford, 9-0. Neither team dropped a set on their way to the victory.
On the women's side, Kristine Giltvedt had the most dominant performance of the evening, winning her match at No. 7, 11-2, 11-4, 11-0. Kaitlyn Money was not far behind at No. 4. She gave up just seven points overall in winning, 11-2, 11-0, 11-5. Her sister, Elisa, cruised to her victory at No. 2, 11-1, 11-4, 11-6. Team captain Courtney Sabo put up a strong showing at No. 6, 11-4, 11-5, 11-0, while Claire Anderson cruised at No. 9, 11-0, 11-5, 11-6.
Also victorious were Damindhi Udangawa at No. 1, Mary Fung-A-Fat at No. 3, Kiran Vasudevan at No. 5 and Alexandra Dodson at No. 8.
The men were similarly strong in their win. Sebastian Dangond at No. 2 and August Crofton at No. 9 had the biggest wins, each ceding just five points on the evening. Dangond won 11-4, 11-1, 11-0, while Crofton handled his opponent 11-2, 11-1, 11-2. Michael Thompson at No. 1, Noel Solomon at No. 3 and Joey Gingold at No. 4 each allowed just seven points, winning by identical 11-3, 11-3, 11- marks.
The Dragons also got wins from Nat Fry at No. 5, Ben Bevan at No. 6, Marc Rademaker at No. 7 and Will Heyman at No. 8.
Drexel will close out its regular season on Sunday when the teams face George Washington. Those matches are set to get underway at 2:00 p.m. They will be preceded by Senior Day ceremonies, honoring the five Drexel players who will be taking the courts at the Kline & Specter Squash Center for the final time - Claire Anderson, Davila Thompson, Bevan, Heyman and Justin Singh.
