Crew Sweeps Eight Races Saturday at Frostbite Regatta

WEST WINDSOR, N.J. – Drexel Crew won all eight races to conclude a successful fall season on Saturday, Nov. 8 at Mercer Lake in West Windsor, N.J. at the Frostbite Regatta.
Drexel's women's freshmen eight kicked off the Dragons' day on Mercer Lake in the Marlene Buckley boat, beating second-place finisher by over 20 seconds with a time of 7:34.47.
The freshmen men then followed with the "A" boat in the Vince Vidas boat, crossing the finish line with a winning time of 6:18.72, then the "B" boat took the next race in the Joseph Greipp boat, winning with a 6:26.80.
Next up, the Dragons sent two boats into men's second varsity eight competition. The "A" boat rowed the Lois Krall boat to victory with a 6:20.26 time, while the "B" boat won in the Antoinette Penonni boat with a time of 6:25.56.
Drexel raced three women's varsity eight boats in the same race. The "A" boat won in the Marlene Buckley II boat with a 7:02.06. The "B" boat came in third with a time of 7:19.72 in the Maria Papadakis boat, followed by the "C" boat in fifth in the Marlene Buckley boat with a 7:57.86.
The Dragons capped the day with the men's varsity eight races. The "A" boat paced the competition in the Sandra Lee Sheller II boat with a time of 5:58.97. The "B" boat finished out the day with a win in the Joseph Greipp boat, crossing the finish line at the 6:14.36
Last year at the Frostbite, Drexel Crew was victorious in seven races, including women's crew winning all four events they were entered in.
In their previous fall competition, the Head of the Schuylkill, the Dragons retained the overall team points title for the fifth-consecutive season. The team also had strong showings at the Head of the Charles Regatta and the Navy Day Regatta.

Drexel's women's freshmen eight kicked off the Dragons' day on Mercer Lake in the Marlene Buckley boat, beating second-place finisher by over 20 seconds with a time of 7:34.47.
The freshmen men then followed with the "A" boat in the Vince Vidas boat, crossing the finish line with a winning time of 6:18.72, then the "B" boat took the next race in the Joseph Greipp boat, winning with a 6:26.80.
Next up, the Dragons sent two boats into men's second varsity eight competition. The "A" boat rowed the Lois Krall boat to victory with a 6:20.26 time, while the "B" boat won in the Antoinette Penonni boat with a time of 6:25.56.
