Buffalo, N.Y. - The Drexel women's soccer team fell to Buffalo, 1-0, on Sunday in a game in which the start time was delayed until 1:30 p.m. due to field conditions.
Drexel got off to another strong start, getting four shots off in the first seven minutes. Despite the Dragons outshooting the Bulls, 6-1 in the first half, the game remained scoreless going into halftime.
Buffalo were first to strike in the second half, as the Bulls scored their lone goal in the 57th minute when Katie Roberts found the lower right corner of the net off a pass from Courtney Mann.
Drexel tried to make a comeback with less than ten minutes to go as Megan Hammaker was able to make two attempts at the goal. Her first shot, which came in the 83rd minute went high while the second attempt was saved by Buffalo's Dougall with just three minutes remaining.
The Bulls outshot the Dragons, 9-8. Keeper Kelsie Fye tallied two saves on the game, while Buffalo's Laura Dougall recorded three.
The Dragons return to action on Friday when they travel to VCU for a 5:00 p.m. game
