Philadelphia, Pa. - The Drexel women's soccer team shut out Wagner on Sunday afternoon at Vidas Field. The 1-0 victory extends the Dragons' unbeaten streak to three games as they closed out their non-conference schedule.
Jacki Sieder scored what would ultimately become the game-winner for Drexel with 19 seconds remaining in the first half. Sam Greenfield found the ball in the box and passed it over to Sieder on her right, who buried it into the net for the Dragons' lone goal of the game. Drexel would go on to hold the Seahawks scoreless for the entirety of the second half to pick up its third victory of the season.
This marks the second shutout of the weekend for junior keeper Kelsie Fye. Fye recorded one save on the game, while Wagner's Katie Marcy tallied eight. Opponents have not scored a goal on Fye in her last 259 minutes of play.
With the win, the Dragons improve to 3-5-1. The Seahawks, who have not won a game since Aug. 31, also move to 3-5-1.
Drexel returns to action on Friday when they open conference play at home against College of Charleston. The game is set to begin at 7:30 p.m.
