Philadelphia, Pa. — Drexel shot just 24 percent as James Madison defeated the Dragons, 54-35 at the Daskalakis Athletic Center on Thursday night. Drexel had a solid defensive performance but could not get its offense clicking all night.

Drexel (3-13, 1-4 CAA) scored the first nine points of the game, but went ice cold right after that. The Dragons didn't make a field goal for the final 15:03 of the half as JMU (10-8, 3-2) turned the nine point deficit into a 17-12 lead at intermission. It was the lowest offensive output for the Dragons and for an opponent this year. The Drexel defense held the Dukes to just 35 percent shooting in the first half and forced 11 turnovers. However, on the other end, Drexel managed to make just four field goals in the opening 20 minutes. The Dragons were 4-for-25 from the field.

The Dragons opened the second half with a Tavon Allen jumper to cut the lead to three points. That was as close as Drexel would get the rest of the way. JMU scored five straight and went on a 12-3 run to take a double-digit lead. That margin increased to as many as 19 points.

Damion Lee led Drexel with 14 points. He was 5-for-12 from the field and had three three-pointers. Allen added nine points, while Rashann London chipped in with eight points. Dalembert, who played at Lower Merion High School, led the Dukes with 15 points. Ron Curry added 12 points, while Winston Grays was also in double figures with 12 points.

The Dragons are back on the road this weekend. Drexel will play at Delaware on Saturday at 4 p.m. in a game that can be seen live on The Comcast Network. The Dragons will then head to Hofstra for a game on Jan. 21. The team's next home game will be on Jan. 24 against the College of Charleston.
