Squash Splits with No. 3/NR Rochester

ROCHESTER, N.Y. - The Drexel men's and women's squash teams split their matches with the Rochester Yellowjackets on Sunday. The women cruised to a 9-0 win and improved their record to 6-7 on the season. The men dropped an 8-1 match to the No. 3 Yellowjackets, which drops their record to 4-7.
The Drexel women swept Rochester, while not dropping a game in the process. Hayley Hughes got the process started at the top of the Dragon ladder and Courtney Sabo finished the sweep in the number nine spot. The Dragons cruised in each match. No Dragon gave up more than four pioints in any game.
On the men's side, Drexel got its lone win from Joey Gingold out of the number eight spot. Gingold swept Meng Xiaomen, 11-7, 11-5, 11-8. The junior won tight games in one and three to pick up his fifth win of the season.
Atticus Kelly and Cillian Dunne each lost in four games. In his match, Dunne won game two but then dropped games three and four by 12-10 scores. Kelly avoided the sweep at the top of the Drexel ladder by winning game three, 11-4, but then dropped game four 11-3. Luke Willemse lost in three but played two highliy competitve games versus Ryosei Kobayashi in the number two spot. The freshman lost games one and three by identical 11-9 scores. Mark Kauf lost his match to William Mohn by a total of seven points over the three games.
The Dragons return to action next weekend when they travel to Middlebury on Friday and Williams on Saturday. The men and women play at 5 p.m. on Friday and 12 p.m. on Saturday.
