No. 13 Women’s Squash Edges Williams College Late, 6-3

PHILADELPHIA – The No. 13 Drexel women's squash team (5-2) ended the calendar year with a 6-3 win over the No. 12 Williams College Ephs (12-4) on Sunday afternoon from the Kline & Specter Squash Center in the Daskalakis Athletic Center at Drexel University.
The Dragons won the first four matches on Sunday to take control early. Junior Mary Fung-A-Fat turned in the first victory, a sweep, from the No. 4 position over Williams Esther Baek, 11-6, 11-6, 11-3.
Freshman Apoorva Addepalli kept the rhythm going with an 11-8, 6-11, 11-7, 11-5 victory from the No. 8 spot against Caroline Hogan.
Senior Laura Rahauser then grabbed a No. 6 matchup win in four games over Lily Grant, 11-5, 11-13, 11-8, 11-4.
Sophomore Ryan Morgan won a five-game thriller from the No. 2 spot for the Dragons after trailing 2-1. She defeated Hayley Parsons, 11-3, 4-11, 9-11, 11-5, 11-7.
The Dragons dropped the next three matches, but still led 4-3 with sophomore Hayley Hughes and freshman Fiona Power still playing in the No. 1 and 5 matches.
With a two-game advantage heading into the third, Hughes clinched the victory for Drexel with an 11-7, 11-5, 11-7 sweep over Williams' Nicole Friedman.
Moments after Hughes helped deliver the win, Power came back late in the fourth to grab an 11-8, 7-11, 11-6, 12-10 win.
The Dragons will now take the rest of December off of competition before playing No. 10 Dartmouth on Saturday, Jan. 16 to open the 2016 year.
