No. 10 Women’s Squash Falls to No. 3 Trinity, Defeats No. 18 Bowdoin on Sunday

HARTFORD, Conn. – The No. 10 Drexel women's squash team (1-3) earned its first win of the 2016-17 campaign on Sunday from Hartford, Conn. The Dragons fell to No. 3 Trinity, 8-1, in their morning match before picking up a victory over No. 18 Bowdoin, 7-2, in the afternoon.
In the morning against the Trinity Bantams, senior Kristine Giltvedt picked up the lone win for the Dragons in the 8-1 defeat. Playing from the No. 7 position, Giltvedt downed Trinity's Phoebe Carlisle, 11-6, 11-5, 11-8, for her first individual win of the campaign.
Giltvedt would go on to grab another with from the No. 7 spot for the Dragons as the only 2-0 player on Sunday as Drexel turned in a 7-2 win over the Bowdoin Polar Bears in the afternoon.
Junior Ryan Morgan from the No. 1, sophomore Fiona Power from the NO. 3, senior Kaitlyn Money from the No. 6, GIltvedt from the No. 7 each picked up sweeps against the Polar Bears.
Drexel junior Jennifer White grabbed her first career win in comeback fashion as she came back from two down to win, 10-12, 9-11, 11-8, 11-5, 12-10.
Seniors Mary Fung-A-Fat and Maria Diagama each picked up respective four-game wins over Bowdoin's Lindsey Bindra, 11-4, 5-11, 11-6, 11-1, and Chloe Polikoff, 13-11, 11-7, 8-11, 13-11.
The Dragons returned to action on the road at Princeton, Middlebury and Williams from Thursday, Dec. 1 through Saturday, Dec. 3 to close out the 2016 portion of the schedule.
