NEWARK, Del. – The Drexel men's and women's diving teams concluded the two-day CAA Diving Championships on Sunday evening from the University of Delaware. Senior David Sanchez was named the Men's Most Outstanding Diver of the Meet.
SANCHEZ NAMED DIVER OF THE MEET
Sanchez was named the CAA Men's Most Outstanding Diver of the Meet for the third time in his four years after he earned gold in the 1m board (333.25) yesterday and finished second in the 3m this evening. The senior totaled a score of 355.50 in the 3m for the silver medal, narrowly getting edged out by Delaware's Luke Winkler at 356.30.
MEN
Sophomore Simon Carne placed seventh in the 3m finals with a score of 231.45 in six dives while freshman Michael Binkauskas came in eighth at 227.10.
Junior Reed Vennel missed out on the 3m finals on Sunday but finished with a top score of 230.65 in the consolation finals.
WOMEN
In the 1m prelims, sophomore Rory McPhillips turned in the top score for Drexel at 183.15 followed by junior Jaclyn Goulet (182.15), sophomore Hailey Ihlow (159.00) and sophomore Brittany Seibert (138.05).
CAA SWIMMING CHAMPIONSHIPS
Drexel's men's and women's swimming teams will close out the year at the CAA Swimming Championships next week from Wednesday, Feb. 24 through Saturday, Feb. 27 in Richmond, Va. at the Collegiate School Aquatics Center.
