Swimming Travels to Richmond for CAA Championships

RICHMOND, Va. – The Drexel men's and women's swimming teams will head to Richmond, Va. for the 2016 CAA Swimming Championships, a four-day meet starting on Wednesday, Feb. 24 and concluding on Saturday, Feb. 27. Action begins on Wednesday with the 200 medley relay and 800 free relay at the SwimRVA in Richmond, Va. Finals events from Wednesday through Saturday begin at 6 p.m. each night. A free, live video stream will be available via CAA.tv.
SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
Two relays will be contested by the men and women at 6 p.m. on Wednesday. Thursday, Friday and Saturday will see prelims and consolations occur before the finals. Thursday's prelims and consolations start at 11 a.m. followed by the finals at 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday's events start at 10 a.m. with the finals commencing at 6 p.m.
Wednesday – 200 medley relay, 800 free relay
Thursday – 500 free, 200 IM, 50 free, 200 free relay
Friday – 400 IM, 100 fly, 200 free, 100 breast, 100 back, 400 medley relay
Saturday – 1650 free, 200 back, 100 free, 200 breast, 200 fly, 400 free relay
LAST YEAR AT the 2015 CAA CHAMPIONSHIPS
The Drexel men placed fourth of six last year while the women finished in eighth. Senior Joel Berryman won the men's 50 and 100 freestyle in addition to being one of the only returning members in the squad's 200 free relay victory, along with Sean Swartz.
