Golf Concludes Play at Seahawk Intercollegiate

WILMINGTON, N.C. – The Drexel golf team tied for 10th place in the 14-team field at the two-day Seahawk Intercollegiate, hosted by UNCW, at the Country Club of Landfall in Wilmington, N.C. Drexel finished with a team score of 606 (+30) behind a Sunday round of 305 and Monday round of 301.
Senior Christopher Crawford had the low two-round total for the Dragons, coming in at 75-72—147 (+3). Sophomore Aaron Fricke carded a 71 on Monday, his best round since arriving on campus. He finished just one shot behind Crawford. Yoseph Dance had Drexel's third best score over the weekend. The junior shot a 154 over the two-day event.
Duke was the overall winner at the event, which had five teams ranked in the top 100 participate. The Blue Devils were seven-under-par. The host Seahawks were seven shots behind Duke. Army West Point finished third at even par.
Duke's Matt Oshrine was the medalist at seven-under-par 137, two shots ahead of Army West Point's Marcus Plunkett.
The Dragons will compete in the UC Irvine tournament starting on Monday. It will be the team's first trip to California.
