TOWSON, Md. -- Drexel senior Chris Crawford picked up his seventh career win on Sunday as the Dragons finished in second place at the Towson Invitational. Crawford led after day one by two strokes and held off McKinley Slade of Bryant to pick up his first victory of the spring.
Conditions were less than ideal at the Prospect Bay Country Club in Grasonville, Maryland. Only one player shot under par on Sunday. The round was delayed for more than an hour at the start due to high winds. Crawford finished the event with a 145. The senior has played extremely well over the last two weeks. Crawford tied for second last week at the Anteater Invitational in Irvine, Calif. in his last event.
Yoseph Dance finished at six-over-par and tied for eighth overall at 150. It was the fourth time this academic year that Dance has finished in the top 10. Michael Cook tied for 27th overall and had Drexel's third best score of the tournament. Georgetown won the tournament with a 605. The Dragons were just four strokes behind the Hoyas. Fairfield and St. John's tied for third place at 614. The Dragons are off until April 18, when it stays in Philadelphia to play at the Finegan Invitational hosted by La Salle. That tournament will take place at the Philadelphia Country Club.
