Spiker Named Skip Prosser Man of the Year Award Winner

Philadelphia - Newly hired Drexel Head Coach Zach Spiker is the recipient of the 2016 Skip Prosser Award. Named after the late Skip Prosser, the award is presented annually to those who not only achieve success on the basketball court but also display moral integrity off of it as well.

Spiker led Army to its first postseason appearance since 1978. He guided the Black Knights to a 19-14 record, which tied for the best overall mark in the Patriot League. It was the most wins at Army in more than 30 years.

"It is a profound honor to be associated in any way with coach Prosser and to be mentioned alongside this year's finalists," said Spiker. "This award reflects the character of each coach, staff member and player at West Point. There, every day is an opportunity to step up to an historic bar of excellence. At Drexel, we will work to live out coach Prosser's legacy both on and off the court."

Skip Prosser, who died suddenly in 2007 while the head coach at Wake Forest, posted a career record of 291-146 in 14 seasons as a head coach at Loyola, Xavier and Wake Forest. During his time at Wake, Prosser's teams averaged 21 wins per season while playing in the Atlantic Coast Conference.
