No. 5 Drexel to Face No. 4 Monmouth on Sunday in the Third Round of the CAA Tournament

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Drexel men's basketball team will face Monmouth on Sunday, March 8, in the third round of the CAA Tournament. Tip-off is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Tickets can be purchased here, while fans can follow the tournament here. The International Brotherhood of Electrical Worker's Local 98 is once again the presenting sponsor of Drexel Men's Basketball.

LAST TIME OUT
The Dragons defeated the Northeastern Huskies 84-77 on Saturday in the second round of the CAA Tournament. Eli Beard led the team with 21 points. Beard was 13-15 from the free throw line and pulled in seven rebounds. Victor Panov had 16 points on 5/7 shooting. Martin de Laporterie scored a career-high 11 points on 5/6 shooting and rebounded the ball six times. The Dragons outrebounded the Huskies 36-28 and shot 51% on the night.

ABOUT MONMOUTH
The Hawks enter the CAA Tournament as the fourth seed. Jason Rivera-Torres leads the team with 15.8 points per game. Monmouth finished the regular season on a 6-2 run, aided by senior Kavion McClain's return. King Rice leads the Hawks in his 14^th season as head coach.

THE SERIES
This is the third time the two teams have played each other this season. Drexel is 14-7 all-time after splitting the season series. Both road teams won this year, with the Dragons defeating the Hawks, 73-51, in January, and Monmouth defeating Drexel, 93-73, in February.
