Final Results
Lorton, Va. - The Drexel golf team fired a 287 over the final 18 holes to finish in sixth place at the Patriot Collegiate. The Dragons' score tied for the third-best over the final round in the 19-team field.
Overall, Drexel finished at 880 on the par-71, 6,903-yard Laurel Hills Golf Club. Yoseph Dance paced the Dragons with a three-over-par 216. The senior closed the tournament by shooting a two-under 69 in his final round. It was just one stroke off the best round of the day by the 112 players who participated in the tournament. Four players fired a 68 on Monday afternoon, including Drexel's Adam Mistretta. The junior opened the tournament with a 76 and a 75, but played the final 18 holes in three-under-par, his best round in his three seasons at Drexel, finishing at 219. He had three birdies and an eagle on the afternoon. Dance and Mistretta had just two bogeys each in their final round.
Aaron Fricke finished the tournament at 225. Freshman Connor Schmidt started strong with a 70, but concluded his first collegiate 54-hole tournament at 226. Redshirt freshman Brendan Bacskai had a final round 74 and finished with at 230.
Old Dominion won the tournament by shooting a one-under-par 849, two shots better than Eastern Kentucky. The host Patriots were third at 870, while Towson had an 877, and Longwood finished just one stroke ahead of the Dragons.
