Golf Finished Tied for 10th at Phoenix Invitational

RESULTS
Burlington, N.C. - The Drexel golf team shot seven-over par in the final round and finished tied for 10th place at the Phoenix Invitational. Elon University, the host school, won the event held at Alamance Country Club.
Drexel entered the final day at 10-over par and shot 291 in the final round. The first two rounds were played on Monday. Adam Mistretta had the best round of the day of any Dragon. He fired a two-under-par 69 and completed the tournament at 215. Mistretta tied with Aaron Fricke for the best score on the team at the par-71 course. Michael Cook was just a few strokes behind them at 218.
Elon won the event by shooting a sizzling 841, 11 shots under par. The Phoenix was four shots better than Gardner-Webb, who made a run by shooting 10-under par in the final round. George Washington finished third, while George Mason and Applacahian State tied for fourth. Radford, High Point, Longwood and the Elon-B team placed ahead of the Dragons. Drexel tied with Western Carolina and finished ahead of Towson, Delaware, Morehead State, Presbyterian and La Salle.
The Dragons come home for the week before heading out next weekend to play in the ODU/OBX Intercollegiate.
