Women's Tennis' Benhadi Helps Morocco to Fed Cup Win over Algeria

CHISINAU, Moldova – Drexel Tennis freshman Ghita Benhadi helped her native Morocco to a 3-0 victory Tuesday over Algeria at the Fed Cup by BNP Paribas Europe/Africa Zone Group III event at the National Tennis School in Chisinau, Moldova.
Benhadi cruised to a 6-2, 6-0 victory over Algeria's Fatima Zohra Boukezzi in a match played on clay court. Morocco also got a singles win from Rita Atik and a doubles win from Abir Elfahimi and Lina Qostal to complete the 3-0 team sweep of Algeria. Qostal plays her collegiate tennis across Chestnut Street at neighboring Penn.
The win for Benhadi on Tuesday in Chisinau, Moldova brings her career singles record at professional events to 2-1. Moldova is a landlocked country in Eastern Europe between Ukraine and Romania.
