Wrestling Outlasts EIWA Foe Army West Point Saturday Afternoon, 20-12

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Drexel wresting team earned a hard-fought EIWA road win Saturday afternoon, taking down Army West Point, 20-12. With the victory, the Dragons even their EIWA dual record at 2-2 and improve to 7-2 overall on the season.
After starting at heavyweight and dropping 285 and 125, No. 4 Austin DeSanto got the Dragons started with a 24-10 major decision over Lane Peters at 133 pounds. The Dragons then rattled off wins at 149, 157 and 165 pounds to take the lead. No. 28 Trevor Elfvin took a 13-8 decision over Will Lucie before No. 24 Garett Hammond took a major decision from Lucas Weiland at 11-2. No. 33 Ebed Jarrell then came through with a 7-6 win over Cael McCormick. The Dragons closed out the match with wins at 184 and 197. No. 28 Alex DeCiantis came up with a big 3-2 decision over No. 27 Noah Stewart, before No. 16 Stephen Loiseau outlasted No. 28 Rocco Caywood, 4-3.
The Dragons head to New York City tonight for another EIWA matchup. They will take on Columbia at 7 p.m.
