No. 12 Men's Squash Regroups Wednesday for Sweep of No. 15 Cornell, 9-0

PHILADELPHIA – The No. 12 Drexel men's squash team regrouped for a 9-0 sweep of No. 15 Cornell Wednesday afternoon at the Kline & Specter Squash Center. The Dragons improved to 6-8 with the victory, while the Big Red fell to 5-7 overall.

Drexel took control of the match early, not dropping a game in sweeping the even-number matches, and never looked back. Lucas Rousselet outlasted Andrew Muran in a long third game to win, 12-10, 11-7, 15-13, overall. Atticus Kelly made quick work of Perry Hanson in the second spot, 11-7, 11-7, 11-9, while Bransten Ming took down Jordan Brail in four, 11-6, 11-1, 8-11, 11-7. At No. 4, freshman Dylan Kachur swept Illia Presman, 11-8, 11-2, 11-4, followed by senior Nat Fry downing Ian Rothweiler in four, 11-5, 11-5, 9-11, 11-7. Noel Soloman, now playing out of the No. 6 spot, cruised past Sebastian Obieta-Chichizola, 11-2, 11-2, 11-3, while Joshua Hughes needed only three games to move past James Paolella, 11-7, 11-4, 11-5. To close out the ladder, Royston Raymond held down the No. 8 spot with an 11-8, 11-8, 11-9 win over Kenan Ong, while Mostafa Abouel Makarim got back to his winning ways with an 11-8, 11-3, 11-6 victory over Andrew Stone.

The Dragons return to action on Friday, Feb. 9 against George Washington to begin the final weekend of the regular season.
