No. 12 Men's Squash Outlasted Friday by No. 11 George Washington, 6-3

PHILADELPHIA – The No. 12 Drexel men's squash team dropped a tight Friday night match to No. 11 George Washington at the Kline & Specter Squash Center, 6-3. The Dragons dropped to 6-9 overall on the season.

Drexel took wins at the top two spots and the bottom spot of the ladder, but could not steal two in the middle to come away with the win. At No. 1, Bransten Ming outlasted Mahmoud Abdel-Maksoud in five games for the victory, 11-6, 9-11, 9-11, 11-5, 11-5, followed by Lucas Rousselet turning his match around after dropping the first game to Jamie Oakley to win, 9-11, 11-1, 11-4, 16-14. At No. 9, Mostafa Abouel Makarim continued his solid play with an 11-5, 12-10, 11-13, 11-7 victory over Juan Laguna.

The Dragons went to five games at Nos. 3 and 4, but could not come out on top. Atticus Kelly held a two-games-to-one lead on Oisin Logan, but Logan came away with a 9-11, 11-6, 2-11, 12-10, 11-5 victory. At No. 4, Salim Khan outlasted Dylan Kachur in five, 10-12, 11-6, 11-6, 10-12, 12-10.

The Dragons return for the second of this final three-match home stand Saturday afternoon against No. 4 St. Lawrence at 3:30 p.m.
