
No. 11 Men's Squash Defeats No. 13 UVA in Home Opener

PHILADELPHIA - The No. 11 Drexel men's squash team opened play at the Kline & Specter Squash Center with a tremendous 6-3 victory against No. 13 UVA on Saturday afternoon. With the win, the Dragons improve to 2-1.
For the first round of the matches freshmen Noel Heaton, Filip Krueger and Matias Knudsen all played well, winning their respective matches. Krueger, tied at one game apiece, battled hard to take the third game on a tiebreaker before gathering the momentum to steam roll his opponent 11-1 in the fourth game. Meanwhile, Will Grady went down in a tough straight games.
Up three matches to one, the Dragons could not have gotten off to a better start. Senior Luke Willemse kept the momentum going, frustrating and sending his opponent the wrong way on numerous occasions, winning a straight forward 3-0 match. Senior Bransten Ming followed suit. After winning a tight first game, he took the next two and the overall match for the Dragons.
Senior Royston Raymond went down in a competitive four games and sophomore Dylan Kachur won a convincing three game match.
The Dragons return to action on Wednesday, Nov. 28 when they host Dartmouth for a 6:30 p.m. match at the Kline & Specter Squash Center.
