Squash Preps for Home Match Against Dartmouth

PHILADELPHIA – The Drexel squash teams return to action this week with home matchups on Wednesday, Nov. 28 against Dartmouth. Match time is set for 5 p.m. with the women, followed by the men.
Last Time Out
The No. 9 Drexel women's squash team fell to No. 4 Stanford at the Kline & Specter Squash Center, 7-2. Hannah Blatt had a straight games victory, winning the first and last games on extra points against Chloe Chemtob, an opponent she has never beaten prior to today. Mariam Kamal also pulled out a win in straight games against Tara Shannon.
The No. 11 Drexel men's squash team opened play at the Kline & Specter Squash Center with a tremendous 6-3 victory against No. 13 UVA. With the win, the Dragons improved to 2-1. Bransten Ming, Matias Knudsen, Dylan Kachur, Filip Krueger, Luke Willemse and Noel Heaton all improved their records with victories.
Scouting Dartmouth
After competing in Ivy Scrimmages the first weekend of November, No. 10 Dartmouth women's squash will open its season on Wednesday against No. 9 Drexel. Last season, Dartmouth went 7-10 overall and 1-6 in the Ivy League. Rebecca Brownell, Janel Gaube and returner Annie Blasberg represented Dartmouth in Individuals last season.
The No. 7 Dartmouth men's squash team will also open their season on Wednesday against No. 11 Drexel. Dartmouth went 13-5 overall last season with a 4-3 conference record. Alvin Heumann and returner Carson Spahr represented Dartmouth at Individuals last year.
Series with Dartmouth
Dartmouth leads the all-time series 3-1 against the men's squad and 4-3 against the women. The women's team, however, defeated Dartmouth last season, 6-3, on the road.
Next Up
Drexel squash will get right back to it this weekend with competitions against Yale on Saturday and Williams on Sunday.
