CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The No. 9 Drexel women's squash team cruised through its opening round match Friday night in the Kurtz Cup B Division with a sweep over No. 16 Amherst, 9-0. The Dragons move on to play No. 13 Brown, which beat No. 12 George Washington on Friday, Saturday evening in the semifinals beginning at 5:15 p.m.
Drexel never dropped a game and only one game went to a tiebreaker en route to the sweep of the Mammoths in Cambridge, Mass. The Dragons jumped out to an early advantage and never looked back.
Anna Hughes breezed to an 11-4, 11-4, 11-7 victory over Kim Kravacich at No. 1, while the elder Hughes, Hayley, made quick work of Haley McAtee at No. 2, 11-6, 11-5, 11-0. At No. 4, Hannah Blatt won her team-best 14th match of the year with an 11-7, 11-4, 11-5, win over Caroline Conway.
