No. 11 Men's Squash Gears Up for Busy Weekend at Cornell

PHILADELPHIA – No. 11 Drexel men's squash will travel to Ithica, N.Y. this weekend for matches against No. 16 Cornell and No. 12 Western Ontario. The Dragons will open play on Friday, Jan. 18 against Cornell followed by a match against Western Ontario the next morning. Both matches will be played at Cornell.
Last Time Out
No. 11 Drexel men's squash fell to No. 5 Rochester on Saturday afternoon at Lyman Squash Center, 7-2. The Dragons' two wins came from Matias Knudsen and Dylan Kachur. Knudsen continued his winning ways taking down Ricardo Lopez in straight sets while Kachur scored a four-game win against Matthew Toth, displaying great endurance and grit. Scouting No. 16 Cornell
Nicholas Göth Errington won in four games at the No. 6 position for the men's squash team, which wrapped up an Ivy League weekend with an 8-1 loss to Dartmouth on Sunday at Berry Sports Center. The Big Red started its trip with a 9-0 loss to Harvard on Saturday at Murr Center.
Cornell (1-5, 0-3 Ivy League), which entered the weekend 16th in the Dunlop College Squash Rankings, won three games in the loss to second-ranked Harvard (6-0, 3-0).
Series with Cornell
Friday marks the eighth meeting between the Dragons and Big Red with Drexel leading the all-time series 4-3. The two teams last met on Jan. 31, 2018 when Drexel blanked Cornell, 9-0.
Scouting No. 12 Western Ontario
The Mustangs enters Saturday's competition 7-1 overall, with a two-day event in Mayfair Lakeshore, Toronto lined up before heading to Cornell. The Mustangs only loss was against Navy on Nov. 10, 5-4.
Series with Western Ontario
Friday will be only the second match between the Mustangs and Dragons, with Drexel leading the all-time series 1-0. The last meeting between the two teams was Jan. 16, 2015 when the Dragons battled to a 6-3 win.

Drexel will return home when it hosts Colby for senior day at the Kline & Specter Squash Center. The match is set to begin at 10:30 a.m.
