Women’s Tennis Drops Road Match to Penn, 6-1

PHILADELPHIA - Drexel women's tennis fell to Penn on Wednesday afternoon at the Hecht/Hamlin Center, 6-1. The Dragons only point of the match came from Ghita Benhadi at No. 3 singles.
Benhadi dropped the first set against Marija Curnic, 6-3, before coming back to win the second set 6-4. Curnic then retired before the third set, giving Benhadi the win.
In doubles action, Anisiya Simpson and Benhadi managed to comeback from an early 2-4 deficit making it a one point match against Mimi Levine and Ashley Zhu in the No. 3 spot, however, the Penn duo fired back to ultimately win, 6-4.
Drexel will regroup and return to action when it takes on UConn at Magic Lincer Tennis Club for a 5 p.m. match.
