10/24/2019 8:29:00 PM | Women's Soccer
PHILADELPHIA – Five goals from visiting Northeastern spoiled the final home match of the regular season for Drexel women's soccer.
Prior to the start of the match, the Dragons honored six seniors – Emily Baeza, Libby Baeza, Maria Garofolo, Josie Schultz, Ali Shick, and Joanna Seca – as part of senior night.
The Huskies (7-9-1, 4-3-1 CAA) needed less than five minutes to score and led 3-0 at halftime. Three different players netted goals in the half with assists coming from three unique sources as well.
The Dragons (5-9-3, 1-6-1) held off Northeastern for the first 12 minutes of the second half before conceding a pair of goals in short order. The Huskies struck at 57:10 and again at 58:15.
Drexel managed 12 shot attempts in the match, putting two on target, and earned a pair of corner kicks as well. Lauren Currey and Gwyn Godin tested the goalkeeper one time each.
Libby Baeza made four saves in her final appearance at Vidas Field.
The Dragons wrap up the 2019 CAA campaign on Sunday at James Madison. That contest is scheduled for a 1 p.m. start.
