No. 11 Men’s Squash Cruises Past No. 15 St. Lawrence, 8-1

PHILADELPHIA – No. 11 Drexel Men's Squash earned a decisive 8-1 victory over No. 15 St. Lawrence at the Kline & Specter Squash Center on Friday.
The Dragons (3-2) entered play with a 1-0 advantage due to a St. Lawrence (1-3) default at the No. 9 position. From there, Drexel collected six three-game sweeps.
Drexel wrapped up the win after only four matches. Matias Knudsen extended his undefeated start to the season with an 11-3, 11-3, 11-3 sweep of Belal Nawar at the No. 2 position. Noel Heaton topped Kareem Elrayes in five games in a spirited match in the No. 3 slot. Heaton won the first game 11-6 before dropping consecutive matches, 11-4 and 11-8. The sophomore from Calgary, Alberta responded with 11-3 and 11-8 victories to wrap up the match.
José López downed Logan Thomas in three games in the No. 6 match, taking each game by an 11-2 margin. Nicko Fehn fared just as well in the seventh slot with an 11-2, 11-3, 11-2 victory against Tyler Schmalz.
Matthew Lucente cruised past Aran Thawani in the No. 4 position, winning 11-3, 11-0, 11-0. Filip Krueger swept James Barrow in the No. 5 match – 11-7, 11-1, 11-2.
In his first competitive action of the season, Nathaniel Chan topped Daniel Rosas in straight games, 11-1, 11-3, 11-1.
Lucas Rousselet lost in five to Enzo Corigliano in the top spot to round out the match.
The Dragons return to the Kline & Specter Squash Center tomorrow for an 11 a.m. match with No. 5 Yale.
