Women's Tennis Defeats Villanova, 5-2

PHILADELPHIA – Drexel women's tennis pulled off a close 5-2 victory against Villanova on Friday morning at Riverwind Golf Club. With the win, the Dragons improve to 4-4 overall.
The Dragons earned the doubles points with two wins. Anisiya Simpson and Salma Ziouti defeated their opponents in the No. 2 spot, 6-3, while Marta Martinez and Katka Majorova took down the other Villanova pair in the No. 3 spot, 6-4.
In singles action, the Dragons dropped matches in the No. 4 and No. 6 spots, however, earned wins from Ziouti, Ghita Benhadi, Majorova and Martinez to claim the victory.
The Dragons will return to action on Sunday, Feb. 17 when they take on NJIT in Newark, N.J. at 3 p.m.
