Two More Golds Conclude CAA Championships for Drexel Swimming & Diving

CHRISTIANSBURG, VA. – The Drexel men's and women's swimming and diving teams wrapped up the CAA Championships on Saturday with two more victories, giving the Dragons seven total gold medals in the four-day event. That included six swimming golds and one in diving. As a team, the Drexel men finished in second place behind William & Mary while the women's team sat fourth as James Madison won the team title.
 
Alexa Kutch capped an impressive performance at the CAA Championships with a first place finish in the 200 back with a time of 1:55.43. With the win, Kutch became just the second CAA swimmer to sweep the backstroke events in three consecutive years. Also winning the 200 back for a third consecutive year was Jason Arthur, who took the event with an NCAA B cut time of 1:44.87.
 
Megan Sicinski earned silver in the 200 breast with a time of 2:16.87, just edging out UNCW's Meagan Johnson (2:16.91). Paris Raptis also earned silver, hitting the wall at 1:45.26 for a NCAA B cut time in the 200 fly.
The Dragons will next compete in the NCAA Diving Zonez and the Division I NCAA Championships both beginning in March.
