No. 8 Women's Squash Downs No. 15 George Washington, 8-1

WASHINGTON, D.C - No. 8 Drexel women's squash cruised to an 8-1 victory against No. 15 George Washington on Saturday afternoon.
The top two matches came down to the wire as No. 2 Anna Hughes had a battle of a match, winning the first game in extra points before her opponent dug in to win the next game and with momentum the third game too. The fourth game was huge, as at 7-6 down, Hughes opponent controversially hit her with the ball to the surprise of Hughes. Her opponent gained a 9-6 lead before Hughes got a second wind taking the next five points to tie the match at 2-2. The fifth game was neck and neck until 8-8 when Hughes gathered a two-point lead at 10-8 before her opponent saved a match ball. However, she could not save a second as Hughes pulled out with a win.
No. 1 Hannah Blatt came out to a 8-0 lead and aiming to secure the clean sweep for the Dragons, but she faced a very skilled opponent. Blatt lost the first two games, before improving her length and adding pressure, forcing errors from her opponent and asserting herself on the match. Blatt won the third and fourth games playing this style. The fifth game played out differently as Blatt's length deteriorated and her opponent could attack the front corners more easily again with Blatt losing the game and match.
