Connor Schmidt Named CAA Men’s Golfer of the Week

RICHMOND, Va. – Junior Connor Schmidt of the Drexel golf team has been named the Colonial Athletic Association Men's Golfer of the Week. The news was announced on Wednesday afternoon by the CAA.
Schmidt recently took home medalist honors at the 36-hole Lonnie Barton Invitational from LPGA International in Daytona Beach, Fla. Schmidt finished with a two-day total of 3-under 141 (72-69—141). He overcame a two-shot deficit entering the final round, posting the lowest score on Tuesday in the 20-team, 132- individual field. It came as Schmidt's first collegiate victory. Drexel placed fifth at the event.
The Drexel junior earned CAA Co-Player of the Week honors earlier this year on Sept. 19.
Drexel Golf returns to action at the Redhawk Invitational on April 1-2 from Chambers Bay in University Place, Wash.
