Women’s Rowing Set for San Diego Crew Classic in Southern California

SAN DIEGO, Calif. – The Drexel University women's rowing team is set to compete at the 2019 San Diego Crew Classic on Mission Bay in San Diego, Calif. on Saturday, April 6 and Sunday, April 7. The Dragons are sending their Varsity 8 and Second Varsity 8 to the two-day event with heats on Saturday and finals on Sunday.

CAA WEEKLY AWARD
Drexel's Varsity 8 was named the CAA Boat of the Week on Tuesday, April 2. In the first regatta of the season on March 16, the V8 defeated La Salle on the Schuylkill River with a time of 6:32.8. The following week on March 23 in the Murphy Cup Regatta Varsity 8+ Grand Final, the women claimed third place with a time of 6:48.24 in the Alleva XVII, finishing behind Penn (6:42.79) and North Carolina (6:44.82).

NEXT UP
Following the California trip, Drexel heads to Washington, D.C. for the George Washington Invitational on the Potomac River on Friday, April 12 and Saturday, April 13.
