PHILADELPHIA – Julianna Hunt and Amanda Reale of Drexel women's rowing and Leon Bulic, Brandon Kintish and Dimitrije Regodic of Drexel men's rowing were each named to the 2018-19 Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area Rowing Teams on Wednesday afternoon. The teams are voted on by the sports information offices of 30 area institutions from the Philadelphia metropolitan area.
Hunt and Reale were both part of the varsity eight boat for the Dragons. The duo helped Drexel win the varsity eight gold medal at the CAA Championships for the first time since 2007. The women's varsity eight earned the CAA Boat of the Week four times on the spring. Hunt primarily sat in the seven seat with Reale in the bow. Reale also earned a spot on the All-CAA Team and was named Drexel's Female Senior of the Year at the athletic department banquet.
Hunt, a junior, is studying chemistry while Reale, a senior, is earning her degree in psychology.
Bulic, a two-time Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area selection, went back and forth between the second and third varsity eights. Kintish and Regodic did the same, finishing the season in the bow and third seats of the second varsity eight, including a gold medal at Dad Vails before a trip to the IRA National Championships.
Bulic, a junior, is studying operations and supply chain management. Kintish, a sophomore, is majoring in mechanical engineering. Regodic, a senior, is earning his degree in management information systems.
