PHILADELPHIA – Head men's and women's squash coach John White announced today the addition of Dylan Cunningham as assistant coach. Cunningham brings to the position success at the collegiate and professional levels as well as a variety of coaching experiences.
Cunningham joins the Dragons after spending the past two seasons at Penn. He served as a volunteer assistant during the 2017-18 season before being elevated to a full-time role. The Quaker men posted a program-best 14 wins in 2018-19 and achieved a third-place finish in the Potter Cup, the team's best-ever result at the CSA Team National Championships.
"I'm excited by the opportunity to work with John White and the great athletic department at Drexel," Cunningham said. "I'm also looking forward to working with some really talented student-athletes."
Prior to joining Penn, Cunningham had worked at the Cleveland Racquet Club and the Germantown Cricket Club. His various responsibilities included running private lessons and clinics and coaching elite-level juniors.
Cunningham was a three-year member of the squash program at Franklin & Marshall, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2015 with a degree in government. The Diplomats achieved a top-eight finish in each of Cunningham's three seasons, including a top-four final ranking in 2014. In his final season, Cunningham received the Ron Epps Men's Squash Award as the team's most improved player.
In the professional ranks, Cunningham is a three-time quarterfinalist at the U.S. National Championships and has been ranked as high as 93rd in the world rankings.
