No. 5 Women’s Squash Drops Thursday Match to No. 2 Trinity

PHILADELPHIA – No. 5 Drexel Women's Squash fell 9-0 to visiting and second-ranked Trinity inside the Kline & Specter Squash Center on Thursday. The Dragons drop to 4-4. The Bantams improve to 7-0.

Karina Tyma, Hannah Blatt and Ona Prokes both led their respective matches early only to have their opponents come back.

Tyma won 11-9 in the first game of the top-seeded match against Min Jie Teh. However, Jie Teh answered with 11-4, 11-7 and 11-8 wins.

Playing in the No. 3 position, Blatt jumped ahead with an 11-7 victory over Akanksha Salunkhe in the first game. That would be Blatt's only win of the match as Salunkhe rallied for 11-9, 11-6 and 11-9 wins.

Prokes grabbed the first two games of her match with Ashita Bhengra in the No. 7 match. The junior from Forest Hills, N.Y. worked hard in those games, winning 12-10 and 15-13. Bhengra would not be put away and won three-straight (11-6, 11-7, 11-7) to close out the match.

Drexel turns around quickly with a Sunday home match against No. 14 Middlebury at 11 a.m.
