No. 6 Men’s Squash Clipped by No. 14 Franklin & Marshall in MASC Semifinals

WASHINGTON, D.C. – No. 6 Drexel Men's Squash suffered a 5-4 loss to No. 14 Franklin & Marshall in the semifinals of the Mid-Atlantic Squash Conference Championships on Saturday.

The Dragons (9-6) received winning efforts from Dylan Kachur, Noel Heaton, José López and Gautam Nagpal.

Kachur joined the career top-10 in wins with an 11-7, 11-8, 11-7 sweep of Aryan Parekh in the No. 2 match. The junior improved his career mark to 32-21 and joined Noel Solomon in 10^th place on the program win list.

Heaton needed five games to rally past Yannis Senkel in the No. 4 flight. After dropping the first game, 12-10, Heaton won the next two – 12-10, 11-3. Senkel forced a decisive fifth game with an 11-6 win in the fourth, but Heaton prevailed, 11-8, in the decider.

López moved to 8-7 in his debut campaign with an 11-8, 11-7, 11-4 sweep of Matthew Dukarm in the fifth-seeded match.

Nagpal won his team-leading 12^th match of the season with a 15-13, 11-7, 6-11, 11-8 result against Raunak Advani in the No. 6 match.

Drexel concludes the MASC Championships against No. 12 George Washington in tomorrow's third-place match at 10 a.m.
