Men's Tennis Hosts Binghamton, Opens CAA Play at Delaware

PHILADELPHIA – The Drexel University men's tennis team will face two opponents this weekend. The Dragons will host Binghamton at the Hecht and Hamlin Tennis Center on Saturday at 7 p.m. and on Sunday, DU will travel to Newark, Del. to face Delaware in the squad's first Colonial Athletic Association competition of the year.
LAST TIME OUT
The Dragons are on a four-match winning streak while finishing the month of February with a record of 6-2. Drexel's most recent win was a 4-3 victory over Navy on Feb. 29.
Sanil Jagtiani paired two wins together against two tough opponents from Duquesne and Navy. Against Navy, Jagtiani took the victory after taking the match into the third set. Xandy Hammitt has become a very reliable second-seeded draw for the Dragons. The senior is 6-1 in the No. 2 spot and is currently on a three-match win streak.
SCOUTING BINGHAMTON
Binghamton is off to a slow start this season with a 4-8 record. The Mid-American Conference team has wins against Quinnipiac, NJIT, Hofstra and St. Francis College Brooklyn. Saturday's math will be the fourth time the two teams have met. Last season, the Dragons defeated the Bearcats, 5-2. Drexel holds the series lead over Binghamton, 2-1.
SCOUTING DELAWARE
Delaware will be entering Friday with a 12-1 record and will face La Salle at noon on Friday. The CAA rival will be looking for payback after the Dragons won the last matchup 6-1. Drexel has taken the previous eight matchups.

The Dragons will host Bryant at the Hecht and Hamlin Tennis Center on Saturday, March 14. First serve is scheduled for 6 p.m.
