Men's Tennis Extends Winning Streak to Five, Defeats Binghamton 5-1

PHILADELPHIA- The Drexel men's tennis team extended its winning streak to five matches after defeating Binghamton 5-1 on Saturday night. With the win, the Dragons improved to 7-4 while the Bearcats dropped to 4-9.
The Dragons took the first- and second-seeded matches in doubles play. Xandy Hammitt and Sanil Jagtiani defeated their opponent in the top-seeded flight, 6-3, while Hugo Brungs and Gustav Wogen won, 6-4. The third-seeded match featuring Juan Manuel Sanchez and Djordje Janackovic went unfinished.
In singles play, Sanchez was victorious in the sixth-seeded match shutting out his opponent in two sets (6-0, 6-0). In the second-seeded flight, Hammitt defeated his opponent by a score of 6-2, 6-4. Brungs clinched the match for the Dragons in the No. 3 match defeating his opponent 6-1, 6-3.
In the fifth-seeded matchup, Wogen won, 6-3, 6-3. The Bearcats took the top-seeded match, and the No. 4 flight featuring Alvaro Cruz Chamorro went unfinished.

The Dragons will travel to Newark, Del. to face Delaware in Drexel's first Colonial Athletic Association match of the spring on Sunday. First serve is scheduled for 3 p.m.
