Dragons Drop Conference Matchup With JMU, 6-1

HARRISONBURG, Va. – Drexel suffered a tough 6-1 loss to the conference front runner James Madison on Friday night. The Dragons fall to 5-12 on the season and 2-3 in CAA play.
Drexel was able to hold JMU scoreless through the first seven minutes before the Dukes offense caught fire. JMU took a 2-0 lead in the 13th minute and maintained that lead through the half.
Puk Thewessen gave the Dragons the offensive momentum they needed two minutes into the third. The senior back drilled a shot into the Dukes zone on Drexel's first penalty corner opportunity of the day, finding her fourth goal of the year.
Despite forcing three more penalties in the fourth, JMU continued to control the pace as they sank four more goals before the final buzzer.
The Dragons are back in action on Sunday as they take on non-conference opponent Virginia at 12 p.m.
