Dragons Topple Diplomats For Second Straight Win

PHILADELPHIA – The No. 6 Drexel University women's squash team continued its busy, season-opening weekend on Saturday morning with a 9-0 win against No. 18 Franklin & Marshall. For the second consecutive outing, the Dragons did not drop a single game.
Opening up for Drexel was Lydia Robinson at number six who came away with a 11-6, 11-1, 11-2 win. Following that was Katerina Cummings at number eight who claimed a 11-5, 11-3, 11-6 victory. Brooke Herring won 11-8, 11-4, 11-6 in the fourth spot with Hatti Specter handling her match at number nine 11-4, 11-3, 11-6.
Clinching the contest for the Dragons was Alina Bushma at number two with her 11-9, 11-4, 11-7 win. Lara Varma took a victory in the seventh position 11-1, 11-4, 11-4 with Ciara Richards winning 11-3 11-3, 11-2 at number five.
Completing the match were Noa Romero at number three who had a 11-4, 11-6, 11-2 triumph and Karina Tyma in the top spot, who won 11-1, 11-1, 11-5.
Drexel is back in action this afternoon when it travels to Penn for a 4 p.m. match.
