PHILADELPHIA – The No. 7 Drexel University women's squash got its weekend off to a good start with a 9-0 win against the No. 12 Williams Ephs from the Kline and Specter Squash Center on Saturday afternoon.
Starting with a 1-0 lead after a default win at number nine, the Dragons took the overall match in the first rotation. Brooke Herring won in the fourth spot 11-3, 11-2, 11-5. At number six, Dina Rosli claimed an 11-1, 11-4, 11-1 win. Alina Bushma earned an 11-5, 11-5, 11-5 victory at number two and in the top spot, Karina Tyma won 11-5, 11-7, 11-5.
In the second rotation Ciara Richards claimed a win at number five 11-3, 11-2, 11-2. At number seven, Lydia Robinson won 11-4, 11-5, 11-5. Rounding out the match, Lara Varma won in the eighth spot 11-5, 11-6, 11-6 and Noa Romero took the third slot match 11-2, 11-2, 11-6.
Drexel has a pair of matches tomorrow, both at home, taking on No. 13 Amherst at 10:00 a.m. before a 3:00 p.m. battle against No. 10 Stanford.
